Settings at a glance

The Settings tab is arranged by who a change affects. The first section is about your server, and a couple of its rows change things for everyone who uses it. Everything below it changes this iPhone only.

  1. Server: the server you’re looking at. With several servers, the section takes the server’s name, and the server button at the top left picks which one.
  2. Notifications on This iPhone: which alerts reach this iPhone, and how they look and sound.
  3. Live Activities: which cameras’ alerts stay on the Lock Screen while they’re happening.
  4. Playback: how much of the recording to show before a review begins.
  5. Appearance: dark, light, or following the iPhone.
  6. Automation: Siri, Shortcuts, Focus and Control Center.
  7. Help & Troubleshooting: what has arrived, what’s wrong, and how to ask for help.

Rate Fregata Mobile Opens the App Store on Write a Review. Separately, after a week of regular use, the app may ask for a rating itself, with Apple’s own prompt and at most once per version. It asks only after you close a video, never while one is playing or when you’ve come from an alert. —
Version The app’s version and build, worth including when you ask for help. —

Opening a review starts its recording a little before the review begins, so you see what led up to it. Playback has one setting so far, Start reviews early, which sets how much: any whole number of seconds from 0 to 10, and 2 until you change it. It applies however you open a review: from the Review tab, by tapping its notification or Live Activity, from a widget or Siri, from Recent Alerts, from an event in Explore, or from the list and the ⏮ and ⏭ buttons on the timeline. It’s this iPhone’s alone, and isn’t synced.

It doesn’t change the video attached to a notification, which starts on the moment of the alert.

Recordings kept only for events start a few seconds before each one, five by default in Frigate (pre_capture), so on older footage a longer run-up may start at the first recorded frame.

Fregata Mobile is dark to begin with: a dark app is easier to read at night, which is when cameras matter most. Appearance switches it to Light, or to Automatic to follow your iPhone’s own setting. It’s this iPhone’s alone, and isn’t synced.
